 PROJECT 9

AOC

BOOKLET

This booklet was intended to highlight the life & work of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The reason that I chose her is because she is a strong influential woman who is constantly  advocating for people of color, primarily those of middle/lower socioeconomic status.

The first step in creating this booklet was to come up with a logotype that would best represent her. The logotype derived from her maiden name, while changing the "i" to an exclamation point; this was used to emphasize her Latinx origins in her 2016 grassroots campaign which read "iOCASIO!".

The goal of this booklet is to understand the importance of the grid system within multi page layouts. This technique helps guide the reader from page to page while highlighting the importance of hierarchy. My goal was to produce a finished product that was simplistic & modern, while maintaining an urban artistic feel. The color palette used, in combination with the simple stylized headings/paragraphs, further establishes the sophisticated look of the booklet, which helps promote the idea of the booklet being of good quality. The targeted audience was intended for all ages, with it's primary focus on individuals between the ages of 16 through 36.
